The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will sponsor a free fishing day and co-sponsor an ice fishing clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, at the Henderson Scout Reservation on Crumhorn Lake in the town of Milford, Otsego County, DEC Regional Director Gene Kelly announced today.

“This is a great opportunity for families to learn more about the great sport of ice fishing and New York’s natural resources,” Kelly said. “This event is geared toward kids and those who are new to the sport of ice fishing.”

Anglers can expect to catch sunfish, chain pickerel, black crappie, yellow perch and largemouth bass at the event. A warming area, food, bait and some tackle will be provided.
